Hands through history
'Hands through history' is a project that started on spring of 2020 and is still on the making. It is a project about how people always moved on through history holding hands or how they took a step backward by making the wrong choices.

Welcome to the 21st century..in a galaxy not far away..Did you wash your hands?
In a galaxy not far away from here, philoxenia has a different meaning than the one we used to know..You are welcomed to Greece, land of hospitality!Have you heard about greek hospitality? Not the one you may have read about in your books but the one that happens here, today, in a galaxy not far away. For those who are not aware about the situation I'll give you some key words: refugees, camps, EU, trafficking, poverty, war, misery.

Angel Dust
spray paint, pencils, oil colours on paper
50*70
2020
Recently I heard about a drug called angel dust. I thought it was ironic that a drug could have such a poetic name with religious refrences too.. Among other things it can cause schizophrenia and affect user's mental health in general. That's how this image came to life..I'm really sad when people seek 'paradise' in an after life story or drugs and not in todays struggle for a better life. And on the streets of Athens that I used to walk as a child, I've seen the face of poverty struggling to escape this miserable reality through drugs..It's still a very cruel and strong memory that comes to my mind every time I come face to face with that kind of situation.

Michael Donald
pencil, collage on paper

2020
In this sketch you see michael Donald. He was the last noted young African-American lynched by the KKK. The year was 1981. Almost 40 years later, during covid19 period, New York times posted one of the saddest frontpage of all times.
"U.S. DEATHS NEAR 100.000, AN INCALCULABLE LOSS"
I have to add that the loss of every George Floyd or Michael Donald is also incalculable. Racism is absurd. Lets fight him.
